Oregano Oil |
| The oil from oregano leaf extract is recommended for the prevention and treatment of a wide range of infectious diseases. Oregano oil is purported to inhibit and/or kill a broad spectrum of pathogenic bacteria, fungi, yeast and protozoal parasites, and some viruses in the gastrointestinal tract. The main active ingredient in oregano oil is carvacrol, however a number of other bioactive monoterpenes, for example thymol, may contribute to its antimicrobial activity. Oregano oil has been scientifically proven to effectively inhibit and/or eliminate a number of pathogens (disease-causing microorganisms), including: Eschericia coli, Salmonella typhi, Staphylocuccus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Candida albicans, Cryptococcus neoformans, and Giardia lamblia. It has also been proven that oregano oil is capable of disintegrating the protective membrane of some types of viruses, including Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1, the virus that causes cold sores.*

Side Effects:
Oregano oil is generally recognized as safe (GRAS). Undiluted oregano oil may cause skin inflammation if applied topically. Oregano oil should not be used by pregnant women.*
| Recommended Dosage:
Take one capsule, one to three times per day with water. May be increased to two or three capsules, up to three times per day as needed.
